EV Charger Assessment

EV Charger Assessment

Here’s our simple three-step process for your EV charging solution:

  • Quick Survey: Answer a few straightforward questions about your vehicle, home energy use, current electrical setup, and driving habits. This helps us understand your specific needs.

  • On-Site Visit: Once we review your information, we’ll set up a visit with one of our local licensed electricians to check your home and determine the best EV charging solution for you.

  • Comprehensive Report: After the visit, we’ll provide a detailed report that recommends the most cost-effective and suitable EV charging installation for your home, including all the required equipment and services.

Frequently Asked Questions

The cost varies based on factors like the type of charger, your home’s electrical system, and any necessary upgrades. After our on-site visit, we will give you a detailed assessment that outlines all the costs.

Yes, electrical permits are required to install a Level 2 EV charger. Our team will take care of all the paperwork and obtain the necessary permits for you.

During the on-site visit, our electrician will assess your home’s electrical capacity and setup to ensure it can support a Level 2 charger. Most homes can accommodate a Level 2 charger, but some older electrical systems may need some additional electrical upgrades.

Depending on your location, there may be a fee for the on-site visit. However, we will waive this fee if you proceed with the installation.

If you only have a Level 1 charger at home, charging an empty battery can take up to 40 hours. Level 2 chargers can charge a BEV to 80 percent from empty in 4-10 hours and a PHEV in 1-2 hours.

You can purchase a Level 2 charger for us to install, or we can recommend options as Part of our EV Charging Assessment that best fit your vehicle and charging needs if you don’t already have one.

A Level 2 EV charger charges your electric vehicle (EV) much faster than a standard Level 1 charger, which uses a regular household outlet. Installing a Level 2 charger at home ensures your EV is always ready to go and allows you to benefit from lower electricity rates during off-peak hours.
